I’m Dana Iverson, a horticulturist, a mom, and the person who will probably have soil on her hands when you stop by. Fern & Furrow began with one greenhouse and a question: what if more of our gardens made room for native plants?
These days, our family still does the potting, watering, and packing. There are more benches now. The question hasn’t changed.
A flower is lovely. But a healthy root system is what carries a plant through its first summer. We give our plants time to root into their pots before they travel.
Native doesn’t mean no care. It means choosing plants that fit your place, then helping them get started. We’ll tell you the light, the space, and the water they need, in plain words.
See you at the bench, Dana
A drink. A little shade. A good beginning.
We water on the bench before we pack. When your plants arrive, check their soil and give them a quiet day in bright shade. The first few weeks are about roots, not flowers.
