Sawdust runs in the family.
Made slowly.
Played with forever.

We’re Ellis and June.
In 2018, Dad retired from teaching shop and made a marble run for his first grandchild. The next one was for a neighbor. Then we needed a bigger shelf.
These days we share a little workshop in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Dad works out the joints and moving parts. I sand, finish, pack, and usually find the lost pencil.
Our favorite toys are simple enough to leave room for a child’s ideas. That is what we try to make.
A good toy takes
the long way.
No shortcuts from the first cut to the last careful check.

Cut
We start with solid maple and walnut, chosen for a close, even grain.
Inspect toys before each use. If a part loosens or a toy cracks, put it away and get in touch.
