Our guides

A home river.
A familiar face.

We’re not a booking desk a thousand miles away. The person helping plan your trip is one of the people who will take you fishing.

Sunrise on a quiet river bend beneath a limestone bluff

Built around a boat, and a welcome.

Cody started guiding in Cotter in 2011 with one aluminum boat and the idea that a fishing trip should feel like a day out with someone who knows the place. Lena and Travis came aboard later. We still keep the groups small, the gear simple, and the plans flexible.

We do not promise a trophy. We promise to pay attention, explain what we’re doing, and treat the fish and the river with care.

The people in the boat.

Cody Rasmussen beside a jon boat at the misty riverbank

Cody Rasmussen

Owner & White River guide

Cody started Stillwater in 2011. He grew up near Cotter and still likes an unhurried morning with a beginner as much as a long hunt for a brown. Example credentials: CPR/first aid current; 15 years guiding.

Lena Brooks beside a jon boat at the misty riverbank

Lena Brooks

Fly guide & casting instructor

Lena joined in 2017. Her favorite part of a lesson is when the shoulders relax and the cast finally feels easy. Example credentials: CPR/first aid current; 9 years guiding.

Travis Bell beside a jon boat at the misty riverbank

Travis Bell

Float guide & shore-lunch cook

Travis joined in 2015 after years fishing these bends with his family. He knows the value of a good sandwich and an extra warm layer. Example credentials: CPR/first aid current; 11 years guiding.
